Suitable hotel illumination for historical architecture
The baroque and Romanesque architecture as well as the old construction of the monastery with sparse daylight posed a particular challenge for the lighting designers. The lighting objects and lighting design were intended to emphasise the complexity of the building in an atmospheric way. It was important to appropriately preserve the historical context and at the same time emphasise it through the illumination.

Special luminaire family Abadia
The special luminaire range made of polished and patinated bronze was therefore developed in such a way that its installation involved only minimal interference with the historic building fabric. QPAR20 halogen reflector lamps form the technical basis of the varied special luminaire family. These are dimmable so that they bathe the rooms in a cosy ambience.

Abadia wall luminaire
The Abadia wall luminaire illuminate the former monastery walls with a combination of direct and indirect light. The special aesthetics result from the bronze material. Behind the Abadia wall luminaires, light can unfold into a golden glow and spread gently across the wall like a luminous fan. A mesh of fine brass wire covers the lower light outlet.

Standing luminaires as decorative furnishings
Bronze floor luminaires line the restaurant in the former refectory. Their narrow section echoes the 10 metre high walls that lead into a cross vault. At night, the floor lamps discreetly hold back their light and emit a warm, indirect light onto the historic stone walls. It is only during the day that they reveal their true splendour as decorative furnishings.

Table luminaire in the hotel rooms
Floor and desk luminaires are also used in guest rooms. The desk luminaire integrates a reflector lamp that casts a direct light onto the work surface.

Surface mounted luminaires in spherical shape
The Abadia surface mounted luminaires do not reveal their light everywhere. But what is hit by their light shines with a very special glow.

Wine holders and more
In addition to the luminaires, wine holders and wall panelling were also produced for the hotel. In the wine bar, wall surfaces were clad with panels made of sheet bronze, with bronze brackets mounted on them serving as consoles for wine bottles.

Exterior illumination in the hotel complex
For the outdoor illumination, Bergmeister Leuchten created customised lanterns for the access road. Additional bollard luminaires with a canopy made of sheet bronze with an ornamental grid and a stone base give the outdoor area an unusual touch.
